This device connects a three‑phase star‑connected liquid resistor in series into the rotor circuit of the controlled wound‑rotor asynchronous motor. The liquid resistor is automatically put into operation upon motor startup. Its resistance decreases steplessly within preset time and is automatically cut off when approaching zero. Thus the motor achieves impact‑free smooth startup under conditions close to rated current and maximum torque.
It is suitable for heavy‑load smooth soft‑start of wound‑rotor asynchronous motors with three‑phase AC voltage of 380V, 660V, 3kV, 6kV, 10kV and rated power ranging from 45kW to 10000kW.
